While I really like the quote from Rob Bell above, I wrestled with whether I should include it or not. Pointing out the life giving God in the midst of other people’s lives is not so much what we will do on this trip, and it would be presumptuous for us to try to do so in such a short time, in such a different culture. The long-term missionaries, the medical workers, and the Christian leaders who are from, or immersed in that culture point out that God day by day. Our job is to strengthen the bridge that exists between our communities and theirs, find out how to best support their efforts after we return, and bear witness to how we encountered God in our travels for those we will return to.
I just wanted to clear that up before we leave later today. I’ll try to post when we are safely on the ground in TZ. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Yes and yes and yes. I love the quote. It's such a profound way of thinking (re-thinking) about missions. And who knows ... maybe it's the MAASAI who are pointing out God to YOU :)
